Learn how to raise and butcher your own chickens for meat legally within the city limits. We will be completely butchering 32 Freedom Ranger Meat Birds on site during the class and getting them ready for freezing.


In this class you will learn:
– how to purchase and properly house meat chickens
– what the city has to say about raising chickens for meat
– how butchering yourself is simple and easy.
– the best method for butchering and why
– what parts of the chicken to keep and why

To best show how easy it is to raise and butcher chickens in an urban setting, this class will be held “right here” at Homegrown and Happiness

What to Bring:
– Though this class will NOT be hands on for everyone in attendance, please wear cloths you don’t mind getting dirty.
– Bring a chair if you want to sit during the class
– A notepad and your camera phone
